Bike Wheel
Taking care of your full suspension or hardtail mountain bike wheel can be very simple and it will also help increase its mechanical life. Below is a maintenance guide that should be considered after every ride in order to help you keep your mountain bike wheel mechanically sound. Once you perform this maintenance plan and become familiar with the process it should take you no more then 20 minutes to complete. Let’s get started:
Steps:
Remove all of the accessories (lights, bells, etc) on the top of the handlebars.
Turn the bike upside down so you can remove the wheels and inspect the drive train.
Carefully remove the front and rear wheels to give you more room to work on the bike.
Clean the drive train (derailleurs, chain, and crank) with a brush and soapy water. Also use a wet soapy rag on the chain and rear derailleur. Try to do your best to clean all moving parts.
After you clean your bike parts make sure you dry them thoroughly with a towel so they do not rust.
Wash the underside, frame and front fork, of the bike and make sure all moving parts are free of debris.
Wash your front and rear wheels by cleaning the rim, spokes and cassette. Then put the wheels back on the bike.
After you put each wheel back on the bike spin them to make sure the wheels are true and also that they do not rub on the brake components. If the wheels are not true and or rubbing on the brake components make the necessary adjustments.
After your chain is back in place turn the pedals to check the drive train. Make sure the bike pedals smooth. If you hear any strange noises coming from your wheel bearings investigate further.
Turn your bike over so it is right side up and wash the top. Do not forget to dry the bike thoroughly.
Test your front and rear brakes and make any necessary adjustments.
If applicable inspect your front and rear shocks. Make sure they are in good working order.
Thoroughly lubricate you drive train (chain, cassettes, crank and derailleur) with the recommended oil. Apply oil while moving the pedals in both directions to make sure the components are appropriately lubed.
Finally reattach any of the accessories that you removed in step one.
The steps listed above will help you keep your bike in good working order and also help you prepare for your next ride. If any mechanical malfunction is noticed during the process make sure it is addressed. Your local bike shop, which sells mountain bikes for sale and bike parts, will be able to help replace a component if additional help is needed.
See you on the trail

crap
If your hubs are not made for disc brakes and don't have a 6 bolt mount for the disc, you can;t install the disc rotor. What is more important however is your frame. If it doesn't have the mounting points for disc brake calipers, your bike cannot use disc brakes.
Literally the best drummer in the world. No exaggeration whatsoever.
It is so inexpensive to have a pro do it — take it to a shop.
PWND!
These have crappy wheel bearings . They are part of spindle , they have 3 bolts that hold them on . If you take the brake caliper and rotor off the wheel bearing and hub assembly is right there . You need to take the axle nut off its a 30 , 32 or 36 mm cant remember . There is a hole in the hub that will let you access the 3 bolts . Takes about 20 min to change per side . Good Luck and be safe .
Is a trek y5 a good full suspension bike?
Ramming speed, Mr. Sulu
this is so cool!..this has to be in the santa cruz mountains..it looks so familiar…and u guys have a 408 number..like hghwy 9 skline area??.how do i get to this trail?!?!?! i liked the first part before u crossed the road…
Well, when you say, "my cages and straps scrape against the ground," do you mean that you're putting your foot on the underside of the pedal so that the cages and straps are hanging down below the pedal as you ride?
If so, you're doing it wrong and you should either remove the cages and straps or flip the pedal over and put your foot into it correctly.
Other than that, the "standard" length for track cranks is 165mm and the size of the chainring will depend on the size of the cog, so you should use a gear chart to figure out the proper gear ratio for you and get a chainring/cog combo to achieve that ratio, and, since your frame is Japanese, why not go with Japanese components, too, and get Dura-Ace track stuff if you can afford it?
Good luck, and the link below is to a gear chart webpage…
GM and Ford do make race orientated v8’s, there just to expensive for regular people. a track pack V6 mustang would be a great choice, do a rear seat delete, battery relocation kit, dash delete and there you go. you have a great track orientated vehicle
These answers are overworking the problem. If you just grab the fan belt, you can turn the unstuck engine of a 1976 Buick. At least I can.
If the engine is stuck, you'll be wondering if you just didn't pull hard enough, since you don't do this all the time. So if it's stuck, you'll want to put a wrench on the big bolt on the end of the crankshaft and try that.
It only takes probably 50 ft pounds, if that, to turn it over.
Removing spark plugs is not at all necessary or even appropriate for this test. It would be appropriate for a longer-term situation where you start filling the cylinders up with something in an attempt to get it unstuck.
Cork got stuck mid-eject! Agggh! But a 45min surgery later, we're good. True life: my dad's a mechanical engineer
my Droid Eris has neatly tucked my entire life into its slim mechanical belly in the space of 8 hours. is this what true love feels like?
Yes, there will be a third book, it will be called Fallout. But it will not be out for a while because she is working on a book that is called tricks and will be out this summer. Or if it's delayed you can check her myspace for updates.
